BIVDAs focus for 2007

The BIVDA Executive identified 4 key areas in 2006 for the Association to focus on and these remain priorities for the forthcoming year:

  1. Procurement issues, including late payments, Payment by Results and the Centre for Evidence-based Procurement (CEP).
  2. External Affairs – the public relations programme and implementation of the recemmendations from the independent review of Pathology Services by Lord Carter of Coles. This report was published in July 2006 and included 12 pilot sites which are running from January 2007 .
  3. Regulatory issues – both local and global issues including the relationship of industry with MHRA.
  4. The Market Audit programme which is managed for BIVDA by the French organisation, CIP, who also collate the data for the other EU associations.
