It is 99% certain that the report on the NHS by Lord Darzi will be published on Monday (30 June). We have been unable to get an embargoed copy as yet from the DH but the key elements are known and will include:
• An NHS constitution
• Polyclinics
• A more evidence-based approach to tackling health inequalities (through the development of QOF indicators)
• Focus on measuring quality in healthcare (as opposed to quantity) through the development of metrics relating to clinical audit
• Clearer decision-making processes on access to treatment |
