BIVDA is concerned that inappropriately coded OJEU notices are being issued, which on occasions means that suppliers fail to find them in their OJEU searches, this can lead to requests that tenders are re-run, that suppliers may miss opportunities to bid and that the NHS fails to reap the full benefit of a proper competitive bidding process.
BIVDA hopes that this guidance to NHS Contracting Authorities will go some way towards addressing this problem and help buyers and bidders to talk the same language. BIVDA urges members to be sure to include the suggested codes in their own searches, and to promote the guidance to their customers.
OGC have published new guidence in this area, which is now included in the revised version of the BIVDA guidence.
