Liko (UK) and its Swedish parent company Liko – innovators in specialist patient lifting solutions, has been bought by the American medical technology corporation Hill-Rom. The world renown Liko name will remain and there will be no change to the existing UK management team or company ethos.
Liko (UK) has been distributing in this country since 1994. Today it is a leading specialist in mobile and overhead lifts, slings and accessories and provides the highest quality assistive devices to hospitals, special schools, care homes and
the community. With the support of the worldwide Hill-Rom corporation, Liko (UK) and its parent company Liko now has the capability to deliver a wider range of patient handling devices while remaining at the forefront of healthcare development. The similar ethos’ of Liko and Hill-Rom provided an ideal opportunity to form a synergy beneficial to care givers and patients alike. Based in Batesville, Ind. USA, Hill-Rom is a worldwide manufacturer and provider of patient support systems, medical technologies and related healthcare services.

The founders and former owners, Gunnar and Barbro Liljedahl, will remain active in the company and current Liko headquarters in Luleå, Sweden, will become a global center of excellence for safe lifting.
