Doris-Ann Williams MBE, Chief Executive of BIVDA, has responded to the publication of the final report of the Accelerated Access Review. More information about the review can be found here.
Commenting on the final report of the Accelerated Access Review (AAR), BIVDA’s Chief Executive Doris-Ann Williams MBE said:
“In vitro diagnostics (IVDs) have often faced a glass ceiling when it comes to the uptake and diffusion of new tests in the NHS. Therefore, BIVDA and its members have played an active role in informing the Accelerated Access Review of the problems that hinder the adoption of IVDs.
“We hope that the Review will be an important stepping stone to addressing some of these challenges and increasing the adoption of IVDs for the benefit of patients, the NHS and UK economy.
“With Brexit on the horizon, it is vital that the UK demonstrates it is leading the way on the adoption of innovative technologies in the NHS and I would encourage the Government to implement the recommendations as soon as possible.”
