The 2nd annual UK Diagnostics Summit will take place yet again on November 8th this time at The Strand Palace Hotel, London. The Summit, which is supported by BIVDA, will build on the success of 2017 and further accelerate learning around the benefits of In-Vitro Diagnostics in both Primary and Secondary Care settings.
For 2018 the organisers, 4 All of us, are requesting Oral and Poster submissions from BIVDA members which demonstrate the impact In-Vitro Diagnostics is having across the UK and Europe. This week, 4 All of us and NHS England’s UK AMR Diagnostics Collaborative held a Workshop for CCG’s, GP’s and Trusts to start building a national overview of CRP & POC usage in the UK. The workshop findings will be showcased on the 8th November and 4 All of us are keen to ensure Industry fulfils its important role by highlight its best-practice.
Speaking about the Summit, Conference Director, Scott Buckler said;
“I am fully aware of the current frustrations amongst Industry providers in relation to national direction around the use of In-Vitro Diagnostics in the UK. Much of this frustration is due to a lack of top-down action and leadership within healthcare. However, there is action being taken by Government and bodies like BIVDA to accelerate progress, but its important we see data and results from Industry to ensure the argument is stronger. Lets not sit on the data, lets not be frightened that our competitors may see it, we need Industry to work together to see a change.”
“We are all aware of the barriers to take up of In-Vitro Diagnostics, yet we must address these collectively between health professionals and industry leaders to collaborate an approach which will see diagnostics utilised in prevention and support the NHS long-term sustainability as well as improve patient care.”
