Carclo Diagnostic Systems is ready to step up commercialisation of its Micropoc platforms

Mitcham (UK), 26 November 2013:  Carclo Diagnostic Solutions Ltd (“CDS”) announces that it is ready to step up commercialisation of its Micropoc platforms via appropriate development and licensing partnerships.  EKF Diagnostics Ltd is scheduled to conduct significant trials using CDS’s Micropoc-pro device in conjunction with EKF’s π-GST assays and samples from patients at risk from acute kidney injury.

20 Minute Yeast Species ID from Positive Culture

The new Candida QuickFISH BC Rapid Molecular Diagnostic Test can positively identify C. albicans, C. glabrata, and C. parapsilosis, directly from yeast-positive blood cultures in just 20 minutes. The CE marked, nucleic acid–based test enables the microbiologist to report pathogen-identification results 2 to 5 days earlier than conventional methods. This enables clinicians, consultant microbiologists and hospital pharmacists to better optimise therapy for patients with fungaemia.
