SpeeDx and Diagen sign new distribution agreement for Scandinavia

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – (Sept 19, 2017). SpeeDx Pty, Ltd. has announced a distribution agreement with Diagen, a leading Scandinavian clinical laboratory supplier specialising in diagnostic products. This agreement will open important sales channels in Sweden, Norway and Denmark for SpeeDx’s PlexPCR® and unique, multiplexed ResistancePlus® real-time polymerase chain reaction product lines.

30 percent growth and innovation products wins Manchester company BVCA award 

Having the right technology at the right time has made Elucigene Diagnostics a world leading developer and distributor of prenatal, rare disease and infertility genetics diagnostics. The Manchester-based company has been selected as the winner of the Venture-backed Management Team 2017 award for the Northwest in the prestigious British Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (BVCA) awards. Over the last two years it has seen 30 per cent year on year growth, and 85 percent of its revenue is coming from a growing international customer-base.

New Blood Collection Tubes Stabilise Nucleated Blood Cells

The new Streck Cell-Free DNA BCT® CE blood collection tubes, now available in the UK from Alpha Laboratories, contain a preservative that stabilises nucleated blood cells. This unique stabilisation prevents the release of genomic DNA (gDNA), allowing isolation of high-quality cell-free DNA (cfDNA) samples.

Protect Your Samples from Acidification When Shipped On Dry Ice

The new ProtectR® tubes, now available from Alpha Laboratories, have the only container closure system engineered to be CO2 resistant. This prevents costly damage to molecular and cellular solutions when shipping or storing samples on dry ice. Standard centrifuge tubes do not provide a reliable barrier against CO2 and even during short term dry ice storage can result in acidification of samples, with a decrease in pH by as much as 2.5 pH units. This acidification can affect the integrity and reproducibility of samples, and may result in a loss of protein activity.
